Time is taken to get to know you, your health concerns and foot care needs, ensuring that you get the best treatment each and every time for your feet.
They are important! Feet that hurt are just miserable! (And unnecessary).
As you age, there are a variety of concerns which might affect your feet, be it ingrown toenails, athlete’s foot, corns, calluses or difficulty with cutting toenails which tend to thicken as you get older and because of less flexibility and dexterity, might be more difficult to cut well and safely.
It is increasingly common to have regular visits to a Foot Health Practitioner, or a podiatrist or chiropodist to be able to maintain the health of your feet.
Whilst aesthetically it is nice to have good looking feet and toenails, there is a vital health element to feet as well.
As a Foot Health Practitioner (FHP) Tania Sellwood is qualified to treat and manage all the common conditions which can affect your feet. A consultation will provide time to take a detailed history and undertake a neurovascular assessment which is essential in ensuring that your circulatory and nerve systems are workings optimally. Early recognition of neurovascular deterioration can help to prevent serious health concerns or loss of limbs. Where it is recognised that your conditions require more specialist care, referral will be made to your GP or private Podiatrists / Chiropodists who hold more specialised training. (Please bring a list of your medication to your appointment).
Routine care can be given by Foot Health Practitioners, including that provided for diabetic routine foot care, which is important as you may have limited feeling or circulation and less awareness of foot problems.
